FAQ

This knowledge base is designed to support new and existing customers using the OIO product family, including OIO Bulb, OIO App, and OIO Loop. It includes setup instructions, troubleshooting tips, and general information to maximize product benefits. For additional support, contact us at 855-OIO-BULB or email OIOcare@korrus.com.

OIO Loop is a small handheld tool that lets you see all the colors inside a light spectrum (the rainbow of colors), even the ones your eyes can’t normally detect. It helps you understand what kind of light you’re really getting.

You can update the OIO App anytime through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Just search for “OIO” and tap “Update” if a new version is available.

Look through OIO Loop and point it above or below OIO Bulb, moving it until you see a rainbow of colors across the lens. In Day Mode, you should see a continuous band of colors, with the bright blue section being the waveolength that promotes wakefullness. In Evening Mode, there should be a clear gap where blue was when in Day Mode. That open space between the green and violet confirms the absense of blue light – which, just like nature – sends the signal to your biology that it’s time to wind down and prepare for sleep. The presense of blue signals Day Mode, the absense of blue signals Night Mode.

OIO Loop is completely separate from the App and is not an electronic device – therefore it doesn’t connect to the App. It’s a handheld tool you hold and look through to see the light spectrum (rainbow of colors) it doesn’t need to be paired or synced.

OIO Loop helps you see the light spectrum in your environment. Knowing what your light environment is will help you understand if the light you’re in is helping or hurting your boiological clock. Blue light is essential during the day to help you stay alert, but at night, you do’t want this wavelength around you because it signals your biology that it’s still daytime – encouraging wakefullness. Use your Loop to ensure there is an absence of blue light at night so your biology is getting the natural signals to winddown and prepare for sleep.

OIO Loop is not electronic – but it’s also not waterproof. Water or dust on the lens can leave residue or cause damage, which may affect how clearly it shows the light spectrum. To protect it, keep the lens dry and clean.

If the bulb appears in the app but won’t respond, start by power-cycling it at the wall switch. Wait about a minute, then try again in the App. If that doesn’t work, check if the bulb still functions by quickly toggling the power: turn it on for about a second, then off, then on again. This should trigger Evening Mode. If it lights up, try another power cycle to restore full App control. If the issue persists, contact OIO Support: 855-OIO-BULB or OIOcare@korrus.com.

If your OIO Bulb was paired with another system (like Alexa), you’ll need to use that system to put the bulb into pairing mode, then copy the code into the OIO App by tapping “Enter Pairing Code” when the QR screen appears.

If the bulb hasn’t been paired before, it should pulse between amber and white. This means it’s ready to connect. If it’s not pulsing, turn it off and back on. If it still stays solid white, do a factory reset as explained below:

– Turn the bulb off, then quickly on – just enough to see it light up – then off again.

– Repeat this 4 times.

– On the 5th time, turn it on and leave it on. The bulb will flash colors, starting with magenta, then turn off and back on by itself.

It should now be pulsing amber and white. If it is and still won’t pair, make sure Bluetooth is turned on, your OIO App is updated, and the app has Bluetooth permission. Still stuck? Contact support at 800-OIO-BULB or OIOcare@korrus.com.

Look through OIO Loop and with the lens vertical, point it above or below OIO Bulb, moving it until you see a rainbow of colors across the lens – do NOT point it directly at the bulb. Keep experimenting with the angle until you see the spectrum (rainbow of colors), these will appear as you’re tilting and moving OIO Loop above or below the light source.

Yes. You can reset OIO Bulbs two ways – through the app or manually using the power switch.

To reset using the OIO App:

  1. Open the app and tap ‘”Control” on the home screen.
  2. Select the room where the bulb is located.
  3. Tap “Advanced Settings”, find your light, swipe left, and tap “Edit”.
  4. In the Light Details screen, tap the menu in the upper right and choose “Delete Light”.
This removes the bulb from your home and resets it so you can pair it again or assign new Wi-Fi.

To reset manually:

  1. Turn the bulb “off”, then “on” briefly – just long enough to light up.
  2. Repeat this 4 times.
  3. On the 5th time, turn the bulb on and leave it on.
  4. It should start flashing colors (starting with pink/purple), then turn off and on by itself.
  5. Once it begins pulsing between amber and white, it’s ready to be paired again.
