The OIO App can be updated through the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Simply hold OIO Loop at a 45° angle while directing it at OIO bulb. You should see a rainbow stretched along the length of the lens. For lights in the daytime, you’ll want to see bright blue close to the green area. For lights in the evening, there shouldn’t be any blue near the green, but OIO Bulb will show violet after a large gap with the green area. This violet light can appear more blue than you expect. The placement of the light in the rainbow will show you the approximate wavelength, so a gap will tell you this is violet.

OIO Loop has no electronics and will not communicate with the OIO App.

OIO Loop can show you whether a light source is good or bad for your circadian rhythm based on the amount of blue. Lots of blue is good in the day, little to no blue is good in the evening. It is easier to judge lights in the evening since you’re looking for no blue at all.

OIO Loop has no electronics, but water may leave a residue on the lens and degrade its ability to split the light into a spectrum. Excessive contact with the lens may also damage it. Try to keep the lens clear of dust and water.

If you can see the OIO Bulb as available within the app and it isn’t responding to commands, you can try power-cycling the bulb at the switch, waiting a minute or so, and trying again within the app. If that doesn’t work, you can verify that the bulb is still functional by toggling power quickly. Turn the bulb on for only a second or so, then turn it off and on again. This should set it into an Evening Mode state. If that works, you can try another power cycle to see if it can again be controlled by the app. If this doesn’t work, contact OIO Support.

If you’ve already brought the OIO Bulb into another system such as Amazon Alexa, you’ll need to use that system to put the bulb into pairing mode and copy the pairing code to input into OIO App. When the QR code scanner screen comes up, hit the button at the bottom that says “Enter Pairing Code” and paste it into the dialog.

If you haven’t paired the OIO Bulb into any other system, it should be pulsing between an amber color to white. This indicates that the bulb is ready for Wi-Fi credentials. If this isn’t happening, try turning the bulb off and on again. If it still is staying at a solid white, you can try a factory reset. To do this, turn the bulb off, then on again only long enough to see it light up. You will need to do 4 of these short on cycles, then turn it on and leave it on. You may leave the bulb off for as long as you like between on cycles. On the 5th time you turn the bulb on, it will flash colors, beginning with magenta. Leave it on for 10 seconds, and the light will turn off on its own and turn back on. It should now pulse between amber and white, indicating it’s ready for pairing.

If the bulb is pulsing and still unable to pair, ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone, that you have the latest version of the OIO App, and that the app has permission to use Bluetooth. If there are still issues, contact support.

If there’s no visible damage to the lens, try aiming OIO Loop in different directions. Typically, the best results will be found 10-20 degrees away from the light source.

Yes, you can reset your OIO Bulbs in the OIO App by deleting them, or manually by toggling power in a specific way.

Within the app, tap the “Control” button on the home screen, then the room where you have the bulb. Once in the room control screen, tap “Advanced Settings.” Find the light you wish to reset, slide the button to the left, and tap “Edit.” This will take you to the Light Details screen. From the menu in the upper right, tap “Delete Light.” This will remove the light from your home and reset it to factory settings, allowing you to pair it to a new home or give it new Wi-Fi credentials.

To reset manually, turn the bulb off, then on again only long enough to see it light up.
