OIO App Voice Services
Add OIO bulbs to Google Home, Apple Home, and Amazon Alexa
Use this guide to add your OIO bulb to other smarthome apps. Start by getting a fresh pairing code in the OIO app, then follow the codeentry steps for Amazon Alexa, Google Home, or Apple Home as an additional app/controller.
Get your pairing code in the OIO app
- Open the OIO App and log in.
- From the home screen, select the room with the light from the dropdown at the top.
- Tap the round Lights button in the middle of the screen.
- Find the light in the list and swipe left on its tile, exposing the Edit button.
- Tap Edit.
- Tap Turn on Pairing Mode at the bottom of the screen.
- In the popup dialog, tap Copy Code or write down the 11digit Setup Code.
Amazon Alexa
What you’ll do: Add a Matter device in Alexa and enter the 11digit code from the OIO app.
Steps
- Open Alexa → Devices → + → Add Device.
- Select Matter (it may be under Other → Matter).
- When asked if the device is already set up with another app/service, select Yes.
- Choose Enter code (you can skip QR) and input the 11digit pairing code from the OIO app.
- Finish the prompts and assign the device.
Google Home
What you’ll do: Add a Matterenabled device and enter the numeric setup key from the OIO app.
Steps
- Open Google Home.
- Tap Devices → Add → Matterenabled device.
- If a QR prompt appears, choose Set up without QR code → Enter setup key.
- Paste or type the 11digit Matter setup code from the OIO app.
- Follow prompts to assign a room and finish.
Tips
- Make sure the bulb is powered on and near your router/phone.
- Google recommends IPv6 enabled on your WiFi router for Matter over WiFi.
- If Google Home can’t find the device, close/reopen the app and try again using Enter setup key.
Apple Home
What you’ll do: Add an accessory in Home and use the code from the OIO app (Apple may ask for an 11 or 21digit code for Matter).
Steps
- Open Home.
- Tap Add → Add Accessory.
- Tap More options (don’t scan yet).
- If your accessory shows up, select it; if not, choose My accessory isn’t shown → Enter code.
- Paste or type the Matter setup code from the OIO app.
- Complete the prompts and assign a room.
Quick fixes if codeentry fails
- Use a fresh code: Matter sharing codes are timelimited; generate a new one in the OIO app if you see timeouts or “expired” messages.
- Keep the phone on the same WiFi used by your home, and ensure Bluetooth is on during commissioning.
- Powercycle the bulb (off 10 seconds, back on) and retry.
- Restart the app/phone and try the manual code entry path again (skip QR).
